Stories and Songs: An LGBTQIA+ Perspective on Popular Music
What image comes to mind when we mention Miguel de Molina, Chavela Vargas, or Falete? You’re probably starting to hum a copla or a pasodoble. But did you know that those songs and artists hide stories that aren’t immediately apparent?
In this workshop, we will explore affective, sexual, and gender diversity through a journey across musical genres and artists who have shaped our lives. All of this will help us connect with contemporary artists who make their music a safer space for everyone.
This workshop is created by Julia Pardo, a historian, feminist and bi activist, and cultural programmer, and Xeito Fole, a visual artist, transfeminist activist, and cultural programmer.
