VIU cicle: Silent film with live sound
The cycle proposes to compose and perform original music, recalling the old form of film music, although far from the typical soundtracks that used to accompany silent films.
Based on the film material screened at Cicle Viu, the closing session will revisit Elvira Notari’s “È’Piccerella”, Germain Dulac’s “La souriante Madame Beudet”, and Maya Deren’s “At Land” and “Meshes of the Afternoon”, creating a bridge between the experimental narratives of pioneering female directors of the first half of the s. XX and the present, through a Live Cinema session by Xeito Fole and with live sound by Tomomi Kubo.
Activity within the Acció Dones Visuals Day – Industry Days, a space for learning and reflection, but also for meeting, culture and celebration. That is why this year they celebrate the closing in a concert-performance and party format.
